Poetess M. Vasalis (pseudonym of M. Droogleever Fortuyn-Leenmans, 1909-1998) did not lijke publicity; therefore there are hardly any interviews with her. On the basis of “sporen”–‘tracks” (for example a taperecording from 1987) the documentary was made. Writer Ronald Olsen had a conversation with her. She spoke of her poetry, her first poems, her literary heroes, her conflict with the “Vijftigers” and the relationship between her work as a child psychiatrist and her poethood. The documentary follows her “tracks”, from Roden, where she lived for years and where she passed away. A number of people bring up memories of her, like her gardener, the housekeeper, the poets Remco Ekkers en Marga Kool and Ronald Olsen.
The opening night was in Theatre de Winsinghhof in Roden. The film was shown in film theatre Images in Groningen on March 27th, 2010 and was broadcasted by a local TV-station RTVDrenthe on April 4th, 2010.
